Hurricane Diane

Project Type

Video Engineering

Date

February 2026

Location

Carnegie Mellon University

Hurricane Diane was a main-stage engineering project consisting of 6 projectors, with advanced mapping/blending techniques to cover a large-scale rear-projection screen (36'w x 24'h). This system utilized Millumin 5 in conjunction with Bitfocus Companion to use OSC prompting for recalling lens memories on the Panasonic PT-RZ21KU. Not only was this system very tech-heavy, with 2 computers across a 4-switch network, but it also had some technical problems that led to on-the-job lamp replacements, filter checks, and daily mapping checks.
